Shark Valley Visitor Center.
The center offers educational displays, a park video, an underwater camera and informational brochures. Books, postcards, and other items available for sale. Guided tram tours, bicycle rentals, snacks and soft drinks are also available from Shark Valley Tram Tours, Inc.

Two short walking trails (one disabled accessible) off the main trail for your enjoyment.

Bobcat Boardwalk Trail - 0.5 miles (800 meters) one way.
Located off the Tram Road behind the Visitor Center.
A self-guided boardwalk trail that meanders through the sawgrass slough and tropical hardwood forests.

Otter Cave Hammock Trail - 0.25 miles (400 meters) one way.
Begins 0.5 miles (800 meters) behind the Visitor Center, off the Tram Road.
A rough limestone trail through a tropical hardwood forest with small footbridges over a small stream.

Tram Road - 15 miles (24 km) round trip.
This flat, paved road is used for tram rides, bicycling, and walking. Along the road you may see alligators, herons, egrets, deer, turtles, and snail kites. An observation tower at the halfway point provides panoramic views. Below the Observation Tower is a short trail through a tropical hardwood hammock. Bicycles can be rented from the Tram Tour Company.

Shark Valley Tram Tours
Offers guided two-hour narrated tram tours along a fifteen-mile loop in the heart of the "River of Grass". Tours depart from the benches and provide a great opportunity to see wildlife and learn about the Freshwater ecosystem. Bicycles are also available for rent. Reservations are strongly recommended during the dry, winter season when Everglades National Park is at its busiest. Tram tours offered daily every hour on the hour, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Hours vary slightly between winter and summer seasons.

Adventure Ramble at 10:00 am.(45 minutes)
Join a park ranger for a walk or talk to discover life in the Everglades. See colorful dragonflies, hear frogs singing, and look at the rain drops decorating the spider webs. Enjoy the magic of a wetland during its most productive time.

9:15 am - 5:15 pm. Hours are subject to change.

The Visitor Centre is located on Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail / SW 8th St.) 25 miles west of the Florida Turnpike, exit 25A (from the north) and exit 25 (from the south).
