Cultural Miami. Culture in a city that is barely 100 years old? You have to be kidding! All right, so you think Miami hasn't got much culture, but what it has got is surprising and unique, and well worth the effort of finding these gems.

Believe it or not the oldest building in North America is in Miami; the only Historical Art Deco Preservation District in the world; A sumptuous Italian palace right on tropical Biscayne Bay; one of the finest acoustical performing arts centres in the world; an opera company, a ballet company, two symphony orchestras, and so much more.

Keep in mind there were signs of human presence at the mouth of the Miami River over 10,000 years ago. Yet Art Basel, Europe's most respected annual contemporary art fair, has selected Miami as it's winter venue. No...Miami is not just a beach!
