Looking all a connoisseur,
Museé D'Orsay, Paris

Hello, here is the low-down about me.

I have over 40 years experience in assisting visitors as a tour guide here in the US , the Caribbean and Latin America and am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. I have enjoyed sharing my experience with travellers and have always immersed myself in the local history and culture of each place I have visited and resided in.

Some facts about me: I am an official Certified Tour Guide in Miami-Dade County and a member of the Professional Tour Guide Association. I am a Certified Travel Consultant, a 2-year course created by the Travel Institute. I have also attended business courses and training offered by suppliers, such as airlines, tourist boards, tour operators, consortia as well as industry associations ASTA, CLIA, IATAN and the Travel Institute.

I was also tour planner for the first Miami/Aruba Concorde Charter and first all-supersonic Around the World Concorde flight.

My past guests feel I am informative and amusing, meticulous and hospitable. But most of all seem have an ability to understand each traveler’s likes and dislikes and am compliant to virtually any specific interest.

Born in England, I have lived for 12 years in Peru, 10 years in Brasil, 6 years in Guatemala and 20 years in South Florida. Anything to get away from the depressing English weather! I'm now a tropical animal, or as the local Cubans call me, "un gringo aplatanado".

I have worked in the travel business for over forty years, and have traveled and guided extensively. When I travel, I like to see all there is to see. My itineraries are busy and complete. After touring with me, many guests remark they need to take another week off to recover. So keep in mind that a holiday by Martin is much more than a holiday, it’s an experience.

Whether you are visiting Miami and South Florida and are looking for a knowledgeable local friend and contact, or are visiting Europe or South America, and dislike travelling with groups or on cookie-cutter itineraries arranged by others, may I show you the way?

Comments about me from My Guests
I have to send this message to thank you, Martin for the enormous help you provided during our all too short visit to Miami. We feel that you brought the place to life for us in a comprehensive yet unhurried way. We had no idea that there were so many aspects to Miami. Everything from the spectacular waterfront to the exciting night-life. We particularly appreciated the way you quickly realised the interests that we have and tailored the trip to our needs. We shall have no hesitation in recommending your services to any of our friends who visit Miami. Finally we valued your presence. At home we read of crime in Miami but with you we never ever felt threatened in any way. Thank you

—Byron Aperghis, Epsom UK.

Ed and I run a bed and breakfast lodge in Massachusetts, so we know the value of good local information. When visiting Miami, we found Martin to be extremely knowledgeable of the area, with no end of entertaining anecdotes. We saw places we would never have dreamed of. A highlight of our visit was a lunch with his lovely wife outside in their tropical garden. They are great fun to be with.

—Karen and Ed Wild, Whitinsville, Massachusetts

I have known Martin for many years. We worked together in Guatemala and as a guide he taught me how to appreciate my own country, its beautiful landscapes, imposing volcanoes, the culture and history. I have also visited him in Miami, and he has shown me a Miami I never realised existed. He seems to be able to identify with every location he lives, and gets to know it better than a native. If you want to see the real Miami, Martin is the one to show you.

I had researched all the organized tour programs for Peru, but none of them entirely satisfied me. I was at odds what to do when a friend recommended I contact Martin. I advised him what I was looking for, and within a week we had set up an itinerary which was exactly what I wanted. The whole ten days went without a hitch, and I saved a considerable amount over what I had originally budgeted.
